Samantha’s Paw (her maternal Grandfather) passed away August 8, 2007 from a very brief battle with lung cancer. The next day, Samantha began raising money for cancer research.

She started her fundraising efforts by taping a homemade envelope to her bedroom door. Friends and family members would donate money every visit. In addition to this, she raised over $100 in pledges for the Terry Fox Run in September 2007.

Shortly after the Terry Fox Run, Samantha began making crafts to sell. She has also been selling her toys on “UsedOttawa.com”.

For Christmas 2007, Samantha asked her family to give her money, instead of gifts, for cancer research. She also asked Santa to bring her money instead of toys. She did relent, just a little, and would willingly accept gifts, if they were crafts that she could make and sell for donations.

To date, this amazing young lady has raised over $15,000.

WHAT I'M UP TO
I’m raising money for cancer research. I’m giving the money I raise to the Terry Fox Foundation during my school’s Terry Fox run in September.

I make crafts of all kinds and sell them for donations. You can view the crafts I've made and some of the crafts that have been donated to me on my "Crafts" page.
